Conservatives are getting steadily more popular, especially in suburban Toronto (Toronto also elected a conservative mayor last year, much to the annoyance of the downtown lefties). They have always been very popular in the west.
A lot of the Cons gains came as a result of more evenly divided opposition though.
NDP (like the left of the US Dems) did very well. Quebec separatists were obliterated. Liberals (like the right of the US Dems) did very badly.
