Renaissance man is just code for a reasonably smart guy who is good at lots of stuff but is too lazy to commit to becoming really excellent at anything.
Watching the house tour of the compund where bin Laden lived, I wouldn’t characterizeit as a plush mansion as the press has done. Looks more like a Horror Show Friday.
“Plush mansion” in Pakistan doesn’t come close to suburban home in the US!
Integral house link is interesting, Biff. May have to walk by there one weekend.
Apparently the guy became a multimillionaire through writing math textbooks.
Just looked at the house on google streetmaps – funny thing is that from the street it looks smaller than the neighbo(u)ring Victorians.
(194 Roxborough Drive Toronto if anyone wants to look).
dave, I had the same thought when I saw footage last night. Cinder blocks and a platform bed. Really? With his money?

Etson, I read that too about the calculus books. Also was a concert violinist. Talk about a renaissance man!

DeLepp, glad you made it back here to see the link. Some truly remarkable homes on that site.
I loved the Japanese mountain house too, but except for the Toronto house most of the rest were different configurations of concrete boxes.
