Yes,MM, all valid points. However, I was focused on one thing….. what do you think about the statement that the economy is doing better than if McCain had won????
Our neighborhood had a big cocktail party last night, hosted by our next door neighbors. Everyone knows everyone else. It was a lot of fun.
Apparently the people we bought the house from didn’t really get along with the rest of the neighborhood. Everyone has stories about the wife, who apparently was crazycakes.
On Saturday night we went bowling and had dinner with four other couples from the neighborhood. All of the other men work for hedge funds or are otherwise involved in asset management. It’s nice to not be surrounded by lawyers for once. They are all trying to get us to join their pool club for the summer. I’m rather chary of the idea.
Arkady, I avoid that Sakura Matsuri. It is always crowded beyond belief. The stuff they have going on at the festival is not worth the insane scene. It is also 15 bucks. I read that it opened at 6 am, when it would have been cool to go if I could manage it, but in the end, I would rather read the paper.
Oh, come on Dave, the economy has been in free-fall for at least 8 years, and Obama is supposed to fix it in 2 1/2? The policies that led to the fall were put in place even longer than that, and like a volcano, have been boiling underground ever since, and were starting to erupt at the end of Bush’s first term. The economy didn’t tank in 2 1/2 years, and it’s going to take more time than that to fix it.
Obama’s the president, not supreme and total leader. His word does not become law, and his policy ideas have to go through other branches of gob’ment to become law. If nothing else, people who are paying attention should realize that our economy, hell, the world, is extremely complicated, and it can’t be fixed with a few pithy soundbites about how Obama ought to/shoulda done/needs to do this, that, or the other.
Went to see Bye bye Kitty exhibition of modern Japanese artists at Japan Society. I highly recommend it. Very interesting, ironic, beautiful, some riffs on traditional Japanese art, cool. Loved it.
Went to Clinton Hill House tour. Walked for 4 freakin’ hours. Some stunning places, some dumps. Saw the Pfizer mansion which was special, a couple of art studios. There were two 14 foot brownstones. I love to see how they renovate/decorate the skinny ones. In this case, not so well.
Serafina has a new partner, a new house. Serious upgrade. 2.5 gallon tank with filter, gravel, cool plant and overhead light. They are very cute…

Why must this Obama success become a Bush bashing? Does this not satisy Obama’s followers yet??

As I said, eva- the facts re Bush speak for themselves. And it was by way of a comparison for biff. end of story and end of conversation.

Thank you, Slope4Eva.
Arkady, my daughter met a friend at BBG but they gave up and went to the park instead because the line was so long.
Non-Osama bin Laden stuff:
