JB, putting aside the contract, I can’t see how what he did was consistent with his fiduciary duties. He was only getting that level of attention and those recommendations because he was a senior officer of Berkshire, and in fact the bankers thought he was there to get ideas for Berkshire. This is corporate opportunities 101.
It’s a conflict of interest, not insider trading. There are no hard and fast rules about conflicts and every organization has different ways of dealing with them

Right DH, if Sokol had to give up a large part of that in taxes, he would no longer take advantage of his insider position to exploit the stock market. Oh wait, if that actually happen, that would be a good thing.

OK so it’s Friday which means that infernal “Friday” song earworm is back. So, what’s wrong with that song is that she’s singing about how it’s Friday and everyone’s looking forward to the weekend, etc etc except they’ve autotuned her to death so that there isn’t an ounce of happiness or excitement in her voice. Her vocal affect is so flattened that the wrong syllables are accented (“everyone looking forWARD to the weekend weekend”). Not to mention the inane lyrics, like two verses on just getting a bowl of cereal and deciding what seat of the car to occupy. Total disconnect between the vid and lyrics on one hand and the voice on the other. The reason my kid and her friends keep youtubing it is they can’t stop gawking at how stupid the whole thing seems. They’ve actually stopped mocking Justin Bieber as a result (not cause they like him now, just that there isn’t enough time in the day to scorn everything stupid about tween pop culture, what with homework and school and stuff).
Still looking for some good tune to drive this one out of my head.
working from home isn’t much different from callling in sick. Everyone knows that.
