  1. Friend in question created a successful software co, sold it and is now very rich. And now is somehow disoriented, happy but also kind of upset. (Also doesn’t have company anymore.)

    What I admire about him and people who are able to do what he did is the ability to identify a REAL need, work like hell to build something excellent, negotiate all the difficult human stuff with financing, managing people, handling competition, selling, marketing, etc. From his brains, training, imagination and hard hard work, he created something of value for the world that is real.
    It’s a beautiful thing.

    I saw jester on the street in Brooklyn Heights on Tuesday. He tried his very best to ignore me, hoping I wouldn’t acknowledge him in public.
