“and if repubs can’t articulate why screwing old people out of their medicare is better than raising taxes on rich people or spending less on the ‘my dick is bigger than yours’ defense budget we have right now – you will LOSE.â€
m4l, I’ve thought for a long time that this is a great idea. Would be nice to elect a president and have him spend his entire term governing rather than always worrying about campaigning, fundraising and getting re-elected. And this is bi-partisan problem.
Chavez Oil Tax Rise Borders on ‘Confiscation,’
April 25 (Bloomberg) — Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez‘s decision to boost oil taxes last week borders on confiscation and may curtail private investment in South America’s largest OPEC producer, according to Nomura Securities International Inc.
Petroleos de Venezuela SA, the state oil company, may transfer $20 billion this year to an off-budget fund known as Fonden after Chavez announced increases to the country’s oil windfall tax law that will take 80 cents of each dollar once oil prices surpass $70 a barrel, Boris Segura, a Nomura Latin America economist in New York, wrote today in the report.
Obama was railing on the oil companies like an idiot again. The oil companies pay the highest taxes and tax rates of all corporate America.
MMmm. Spicy collards with peppers and garlic over rice. Deeeelicious. Everything tastes better with two tablespoons of red pepper flakes and a quarter cup of sliced garlic.
I’m also voting DH for president. While I agree that there is a spending as well as revenue problem, nobody ever wants to cut the spending I want to cut, and everybody always wants to reduce taxes, which they keep doing and are never satisfied with.
Corporate subsidies, tax loopholes, wars, etc I don’t like. Continuing to promote lower (rather than higher) taxes on rich people I also don’t like. Anybody who can reverse one or both of these gets my vote.
And when revenues decline in a corporation, that’s the first thing that they do…cut expenses.
The problem we have now wiith the Obama administration is none of them have any practical business or governing experience. None of them have ever managed/governed a corporation or a state. It’s ludicrous.
“But irresponsible spending supports the case that spending, not revenue, is the problem.”
We should add the money Republicans are spending to hire a hotshot lawyer to defend DOMA. We all know there is a huge amount of waste in Washington, but putting it all on the Democrats or Obama is totally ridiculous.

That sums it up.
“1 term limit (ie maybe extend it to 6 yrs)”

Obama on steroids:

Are they paying him / her over $50Bn?
If not, it’s not that material, and just a diversion.
We all know there is a huge amount of waste in Washington, but putting it all on the Democrats or Obama is totally ridiculous.
If I’m not mistaken, Obama is in charge and that’s where the buck stops.
“not particularly in the mood to be called a moron today”
Would you prefer to be called an EPBALFH???
Besides, I called you a bimbo, NOT a moron.
