There’s a beautiful dogwood near me that has little buds…I love watching that tree every year. Especially when it first blooms and they’re that light green tint.
My tulips are finally open. My peonies aren’t even showing buds yet – at least 3 weeks late. Magnolia is almost at peak – normally it would’ve been over last week.
We put up a ton of wallpaper in our first house, and about the time we finished I decided I did not really care for it.
We bought some at Home Depot and some a wallpaper only shop.
The Home Depot stuff was pre-glued so we would wet it and put it up.
The stuff from the wallpaper shop was not, so we bought 5 gallon buckets of this nasty glue stuff that looked a lot like Dave’s Mexican Yougurt.
I papered one (teeny room) & learned a lot – such as the prep must be absolutely perfect; measure three times not just twice, etc. But the most important thing I learned was to hire a pro for any more wallpaper jobs.
Agree about the trees, too, jackal. There were some nice mature trees in my garden when I bought the house, but when I moved in, I also planted a Japanese Maple, a Purple Flowering Plum, and a Lilac that my mother gave me.
lech – I had a chair rail already. I’ve done it in 2 rooms – in one the paper is pastel florals on a cream background & the paint is the pale blue of some flowers; in the other, it’s ivy on a cream background & the paint is one of the greens in the ivy.

I noticed this morning that my golden delicious apple, my Fuji apple and my fig are sprouting. Lettuce is also visible.
“You know what’s a good project for a new home owner?
Planting a tree.”
(Crap. My day is ruined.) I have to agree with legion! It’s a wonderful thing to do. : P
