“Olive oil contains 90 percent unsaturated fats, most of which are the cholesterol-lowering monounsaturates. Olive oil, which by its very nature doesn’t need to be processed, is the only oil that can be obtained directly from the flesh of the vegetable and not the seed. This makes olive oil a good choice for your heart.”
Dona, I kind of agree with what Lech said. I don’t hit The Champs, but I find myself yelling at them at least once a day. Kids need tough love, once in awhile. Sometimes that airy fairy reasoning with them and saying shit like “you hurt Daddy’s feelings when you told him to shut the hell up” just doesn’t cut it. Not for me, anyway.
ooooooh, I am having a bad flashback thinking about that guy.
About Joan Rivers, I think she is really smart and resourceful. I read her autobiography and it was tragic about her husband. Now she has a small design empire going…very profitable – jewelry, clothes, makeup which she sells mostly on QVC. And she does her black tie celebrity fashion commentary with her daughter.
She is kind of funny, but I never really liked her. I thought she was too mean. (She always tortured Liz Taylor, not that funny)
“Conversely, you probably want to have Parmesan cheese in moderation.”
No, I want to have large quantities of parmesan cheese, even if it kills me. Speaking of which, Mrs C picked up some parm cheese at Fairway that was excellent.
Isn’t it amazing how hardened we are to Lech, so much so that you read the ^^^^^^^ above and just go…ok….yeah, whatever.????
What I would do with the passive aggressive guy would be to sit him down and discuss with him in detail what happened when he screwed something up and how it can’t happen again. And he would always have an answer and be appropriately sorry. And then do it again in some other permutation. It is like the jackass who spills red wine on your white couch and then apologizes, a lot.
(just an example, I know how to spot these kind of people now…they don’t get inside my house).
Biff, olive oil is the main source of fat in the Mediterranean “diet” (which is recognized to be a heart-healthy diet) and is consumed in large quantities. Rather than clog your arteries, olive oil is linked to an improvement in cholesterol levels and a reduction in heart disease. Conversely, you probably want to have Parmesan cheese in moderation.

Feeling better about it…

“This is fodder for a Haiku”
My mudder is more poetic than my fodder.
Thanks bxgrl. But even if it’s like 2 ounces or so? I don’t do it all the time.
