oh, ok, understand, jessi. State department warnings are probably a good measure; they are pretty conservative.
Jessi, full disclosure. I spent a week in a Central London hospital, pretty hurt, and it really affected the way I look about travel. I used to think thank God I only have to speak English. AND I got medical care. And I had a colleague to help negotiate things for me. It is kind of what makes me nervous about traveling to Cuba without full permission.
Dona, didn’t mean to imply I’m too cool to worry about an uprising. I was actually being critical of myself for relying upon expat message boards for info (because they tend to play stuff down).
I have some fantasies about getting stranded in a few foreign countries.
Jessi, hmmm….. You are cool, you never need to worry about being uncool. What IS uncool is getting hurt or stranded in a foreign country when the doors are getting blown off in a civil uprising. I guess the State Department foreign travel warnings (or lack thereof) are a good thing to watch.
M4L – end date could also mean getting induced…
g10, longer recovery but c-section is actually a less painful route (especially if the kid has a huge head)
