The only music I “hear” is what I heard before my hearing deteriorated to this point. When some music is played, if I heard it back them my memory fills in the blanks. New music? forget it.
“What is the age that it becomes “cool” to like the music your parents listen to?”
I don’t need her to like my music any more than I need to like all the operas my parents love. It’s a question of whether and when she breaks free from mainlining the stuff that oversaturates our popular culture and finds her own path.
The best thing about a music culture centered on a handful of radio stations rather than computer-selected narrowcast playlists and just downloading what you want, is you becme accustomed to listening to things you haven’t heard before.
JB, of course I know end date equals inducing (hello, I went thru this with the kid). I threw out the c-section perspective as an FYI in that it’s not all CONs but rather has some PLUSes too – ie I know some ladies dread getting cut open
JB, when it comes to this birthing stuff, my credibility is a little higher than yours (ie my kid count is 1 vs your 0)
slopey- would that I could do that 🙁

M4L, I don’t believe you.

LMAO Slopey. Hopefully she’ll grow out of Gaga soon!

Slope – that’s one of the downsides of not living in a car culture. I was raised on my parent’s music that way – classic rock and jazz.
Thank goodness my parents weren’t the type that let me pick the station.
I mean, my kid listens to that, not Mrs. Slopey, though sometimes we have no choice.
