I used to do booth duty in my past life. The job was to engage as many potential customers as possible and it was fun (in small doses). It was fun to watch people and how they interacted with the stuff we gave away.
“I’m not saying that they can’t move, I’m saying that it’s not a choice that doesn’t have a cost, both to the individual and to the state.
I await your utopian vision whereby life can be a series of cost-free choices. Until then, I assume that most responsible adults know that sometimes life is a matter of hard choices.
As for costs to the states: why should any individual be bound to the cost to a state that has poor policies. Who the hell gives adamn about that?
DIBS- Perhaps it was in better less-gutted shape then, but my understanding is that it was also not landmarked, and the assumption was that they could tear it down and build condos on that giant lot.
Also, it _was_ 2006.
(We live literally next to the house. could reach out my window with a broom and knock off pieces of cornice.)
bfarwell, the elkins house might require 500k to 800k (am betting on the higher #) to restore. if they slice another 150k, I would give it a look at 100k.

M4L- yeah, but you probably could get it livable for $250 and then take your time, you think?

I think the auto shows have the highest calibre of booth babes.
Maybe the boat shows b/c they get away with having them scantily clad. But they can’t afford the best talent like the auto companies can.
“A lot of italians have gravitated to those “booth babe” jobs at sleazy electronics shows.”
Come to the Medical Electronics show at the Javits Center in early June to see the Master in action.

Boothbabes are not only at electronics shows- I’ve played that role (poorly) at artfairs.
