  1. Bfarwell – you truncated me – you left out the “but for in times of unexpected, short-term hardship” part.
    Also, I just suggested that definition as something sustainable long term, I’m sure it’s got tons of social things wrong with it, but in terms of outlay, I think this country could handle it. Gotta run.

    So, do you have to save up the total cost of the kid just in case you lose your job? Or are social services allowed then? And what qualifies as support? I mean, you can keep ’em alive in a wide variety of living conditions.
