Any rate can be the index rate Legion. Just ask them what the index rate is. Could be libor, treasuries, money market, prime, there are lots of options.

m4l, I’m feeling mostly better, thanks for asking. Like many people here, I’ve had the same slight cold / bad cough lingering for a couple of weeks. (Though, unlike “some” people, I don’t blame Montero’s!)

Sleeping better, not so much. I have no trouble falling asleep. It’s that I wake up and then can’t fall back to sleep. But, yesterday, my friend recommended that I try OTC sleeping pills, which I did, and I definitely was able to fall back to sleep when I awoke during the night.

If the bank says that they are adjusting the rate according to a formula involving the “index rate”,
they mean the Fed Fund rate no? Not the Prime lending rate.
