  1. wnet had special about triangle with emphasis on unions and ultimately the fire. Heartbreaking.
    One of the owners of triangle lived in the grand brownstone on park and 38th. Still standing today.

  2. Legion – Similar ideas of layout but Haussman rode roughshod over people & environment whereas L’Enfant – though admittedly working w/ less developed area – paid more attention to the needs of populace while also doing graceful design.

    Which is precisely why I added in:
    “the environmental sensibilities of Olmstead and Vaux”

    I throw in Haussman as a city planner with forsight and Robert Moses as a man who could get things done.
