Classic episode of the Mary Tyler Moore Show when she pulled an all-nighter to update the newsroom’s obits and got punch drunk doing so, and the next day one of the obits which she wrote as a joke in the middle of the night was used on the air.
I bet major news outlets like the Times have obits ready to go for most everyone famous.
