  1. Obama’s approach to governance is like my family’s approach to my brother. We act with mixed emotions and end up choosing a half-cooked course of action that never achieves the objectives.

  2. lechacal,

    Thanks for the “fission” link,
that was a great way of illustrating it.
It also shows why the next generation of nuclear reactors are more efficient with the uranium/plutonium fuel source.
Instead of using heavy water like deuterium and tritium,
the “fast sodium” reactors use liquid metal (sodium) to slow the particles down and increase the liklihood of energy bearing particle collisions.
With Japan on the news these days the public may be too afraid to tap into that technology as it should be though.

    dibs,
ha ha, the French aren’t well known for their military prowess in the last century.
Remember the Maignot Line, a system of fortifications meant to keep the Germans out which took great effort and manpower to build.
Until the Germans figured out they just had to go around it.
That took about 2 days. :o(

  3. “ROTD and Food and Drink roundup were Kara’s – and i haven’t seen her post anything in months – so she prolly just quit.”

OK. Then let’s move EmilyNonko to write cover Kara’s old beat and let Mopar write Emily’s stuff til Mopar finds her next position.

  4. Yes, he did invade both Afghanistan and iraq and though the latter may have been a mistake, it sure as hell reminded the middle east that there was a strong man around that many of them could actually rely on. Now, that’s not so clear anymore. Saudi Arabia can’t defend itself.

And when the hell has anyone ever let the French run an offensive mission, for god’s sake???? It’s already become a political clusterfuck.

The Concorde crash killed more germans than the french did in WWII.
