  1. There is a new class of UPS delivery service.

I call it ‘one time drive by.’ This is the cheapest way for a retailer to send you something. You, the customer, get one shot at delivery. If you are not there, they take it to the Foster Avenue delivery center in Brooklyn, open 9:30 – 6 pm Monday to Friday.

Wow! How convenient is that? The place is in the butt end of Brooklyn and you get to rush over there to pick up your stuff Monday to Friday. I told the retailer using that that I am officially retired from buying from them.
The only way to get a higher grade of delivery is to pay extra for next day service!!

The alternative is that the throw the thing out and leave it on your doorstep. Then it gets stolen. Had that happen too.

  2. benson: “GDC would never represent me.”

And that, my friends, was the point of the comment that started all this. Whether pro bono or at white shoe rates, the point of the comment was that GDC has chosen to take on representation in a piddly little bike lane dispute because of the juice at the client level, not ideology. Whatever one thinks of Iris Weinshall in this dispute, the bike proponents are not suggesting that she belongs anywhere near the top ten on the EVIL list or that GDC’s involvement now makes this some kind of conservative cause.
