If you are religious enough to require kashrut (or halal) then you are religious enough to believe that the prayer matters. You may think there’s only 10 commandments, but an orthodox jew will tell you there’s 613 in the five books of Torah, and one of those commandments (or one of them plus some extensive rabbinic gloss) is that certain prayers must be said in commection with the slaughter or you can’t eat it. You can’t impose rationality on the issue, jackal, you’ll only make yourself crazy trying.
Um, you know…. uh…. cause, you know… I mean, you know? She’s, like… you’ve met her right? I know I know she’s totally awesome I agree!!! That’s not what I mean though. You know what she looks like, right? No, not whether she’s hot, I mean…. um….. you knoooooooowwwww…..???
Bxgrl, re Dell, so far so good. I have one for work which is fine and last laptop, the problem was Vista, I am sure.
I have a Sony Vaio and I fractured the screen with my thumb! I was told by Sony that it would cost 800 dollars to replace. Not covered by warantee. That was very disappointing. I am sure I could get it fixed for less but it is on the low priority list of things to do.

Biff- nothing much passed down in my family either except for 2 photos of my mother and her sister when they were very small children, still in Russia. When my grandmother came here with the 2 youngest- my mom and her twin- it was the last and only time all 4 girls were together.
And I have the platinum cigar band wedding ring the man who fell in love with my grandmother gave her when they married.
OK but saying jewish people aren’t allowed to eat halal and muslims will only eat animals killed by other muslims is kind of just the religious storybook stuff. I’m talking about the real process. If they kill the animal the way it’s supposed to be killed it really doesn’t matter if somebody says prayers or what those prayers happen to be.
