yeah, damn shame about baba… upshot is that the chef has moved to le barricou! was such a nice atmosphere at baba. the scrambled egg crostini was just the right size for brunch. I could never understand why brunch was packed but NObody went there for dinner.
“This is my problem on the few occasions I watch movies.
Either that or I don’t like the ones I’m ‘supposed’ to and vice versa.
Movies always want to beat you over the head dividing everyone into goodies and baddies.”
exactly – or the whole “conflict” in the movie is based around the character just not doing the easiest, right thing to do in those circumstances (kinda like in Winters Bone)
Oh, southside Williamsburg. Thought you meant southside coffee in Greenwood for a sec. Though French:English < 1 there, too.
I liked Winter’s Bone. Yes, boring in terms of action — the tension was all within the extended family’s unwritten code and in why the problem wasn’t being addressed or resolved.
jessi–I’ve been meaning to try that joint. my current rental is on grand and manhattan, so I’ve been walking by there all the time on the way to the new house. good to hear it’s worth stopping in!

dh, it’s more of a funny shaped capital E, but it’s worth a lot!
baba was really good 🙁
Cool, lamb. Oh, and you live near where Babba was. I really liked that place and was sad to learn that it closed.
haha lamb – but if you own your spot when you see the french ratio rising you see dollar signs instead of red!

M4L – don’t worry, I’m not moving – just making small talk with a new poster.
