  1. What was MM’s topic yesterday?

She absolutely SHOULD write a book about the architecture topics about which she is so knowledgeable.

Sometimes you don’t do things when they seem TOO BIG and too overwhelming. But this is doable.

  2. It’s not just insurance costs. That’s part of it but only part. The fear of lawsuits drives almost every aspect of how medical care is delivered and makes it absurdly inefficient. You can’t just speak to a doctor and get an answer. You have to go through a defensive process.

    Probably Irish nurses, Dona.

Not a one, Dave. I have to say the nursing care was the worst I have ever seen in my life. Not a soul from the UK and a nasty nasty bunch.

But (rob??) before I write off the whole lot of them, I have to say that there was one Filipina by the name of Alma, who I will never forget in my life. In contrast, not only was she super-professional, she was an incredibly kind and compassionate individual. Had a sense of humor too.

  4. Yes DH- I would like everyone to deliver a good swift kick in the pants to MM so she will start writing her BOOK!! (I hope you’re reading this Montrose. I’m losing patience with you).

  5. “Here, forget about it….That would have cost 75,000, no problem. Of course, the British citizens subsidized that care (thank you) but still….the cost here is just nuts.”

Yeah – it’s really insane when you think about it. And it’s even more insane when you think about how many people out there are uninsured.

It’s one of those things I don’t like to think about.
