  1. DIBS, didn’t you post yesterday that the NY Times reporting of the reactors is seriously bad journalism?

I thought the Q&A was very enlightening:
    green.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/03/16/q-and-a-on-the-nuclear-crisis-in-japan/

  2. I don’t know how the Brits do it and not to spend too much time on my Oliver Twist experience during my hospitalization for 5 days in Central London…..
Two Surgeries to foot Grade A+
    Nursing Care – 5 days D-

Cost – 6500 dollars to the foreigner.

Here, forget about it….That would have cost 75,000, no problem. Of course, the British citizens subsidized that care (thank you) but still….the cost here is just nuts.

  3. Yes, was just wondering the source of the overinflated prices, bxgrl, since the hospital itself is non-profit (at least in theory).
Agree that malpractice insurance must be a big part of it.

  4. My trip to Woodhull meergency room came to close to 2000$ just for the emergency room where I sat for hours, in much pain, until 10 am the next morning when I got a big shot of painkiller and an iv of zantac industrial strength. The ambulance ride that took me 10 minutes, with no oxygen or ivs, just me sitting in the back- 800$.

No surpirse it can cost that much for what this poor guy had to have done. If I have some extra money I will also try to donate to his fund.

    Benson, stay away….

I jumped in and kicked them in the shin. Just low level type jokers, who aren’t funny.

  6. “Are doctors seriously overpaid??”

people always argue the amount of insurance doctors take on due to the litigious nature of americans is the reason for such high medical costs in this country. makes sense to me.
