  1. DCB- you’ll have to google evolution yourself – or we’ll be here all night. I think the further back you go, the less certain we are based on what evidence we may or may not have.

    The fossil record is not only about dinosaurs and simple organisms. Scientists are able to learn about the earliest forms of live based on the geologic record as well.Chemicals, environmental changes, weather, all leave a mark in the geologic records and these are also studied. Say a layer of one celled organisms live on the ocean floor, it leaves a record in the rock. Even in metamorphic rock- but of course the record has enormous gaps because of the nature of fossilization. Still- there is rock showing carbon of possibly organic origin in the fossil record. It dates back 3.8 billion years. So it is not entirely guesswork they are doing.
