  1. The only part of Santa Monica at sea level is the beach and 1 row of buildings right on the beach.
    1 block inland is 70 feet above sea level.

    There are areas where the slope is more gentle, including Venice and areas of San Diego, but even then the slope are greater than most of Brooklyn or anywhere else on the east cost south of NYC.
