doesn’t matter if the law is irrelevant to general civility, it’s a matter of the bus driver making sure he and his bus comply with the law. You’re right- It doesn’t teach people better manners, but it does mean he has the right to tell someone to give up a seat for an old lady with a walker. It’s too bad we don’t teach civility in school but that’s another discussion.
Dave, i hitch hiked on 5th avenue 2 summers ago 🙂 one of the most funnest car rides EVER!! it was a convertible with a mom and a daughter (they looked like sisters). actually i dont know if it was considered hitchhiking cuz i was waiting for the bus, but they told me to hop in so i guess it was reverse hitchhiking

Um how about back in the 60s when they were running away from home in their teens to drop massive amounts of acid and live on communes and throw tear gas back at the cops??
Speaking as an senile old 37 year old guy, I don’t recall me or my friends ever being jerks when I was young. I’m sure we did some stupid and oblivious things, but I also remember a couple of incidents in college where we stopped to help stranded people while driving.

“Whatever happened to hitchiking?????â€
Rob still does it. Though he refused to get a ride home from Kens after a Floyd gathering last year.

lech…quite a while ago I gave a cop the finger and he came running over to me all bent out of shape and foaming at the mouth about flipping off a cop.
I told him it was a form of free speech and that he wouldn’t have lasted through the 60s.

How rude!
