  1. Benson…the exact same PC bullshit is occuring with rep peter king’s introduction of a harder stance towards Islamic terrorists…all sorts of hand wringing about upsetting Muslims in general.

It’s going to take another major terrorist attack to basically call this shit out for what it really is. I’m chary that Obama won’t have the balls to really deal with it effectively.

  2. Gem: once you have your wits about you – you will be on your better path to happiness…

LOL. Gem, I am not sure when I am going to have my wits about me, but I am hopeful it will happen at some point. And I am hopeful about the future. Something happens in these bad work things, you get beaten down and it affects you despite your efforts to stay above it. I actually went for about a year with rumors, strange conflicting instructions, Stop, go, no stop, stand still, RUN RUN, why have you been standing still, talk to the lawyers, let’s shut down your accounts, we don’t like them, get more accounts, GET TONS of accounts, no we hate them, get better accounts, stop opening accounts. “What’s happening?” None of your business.

  3. Greetings from LA.

In terms of shifts in the world, one of the most important happened about 3 weeks ago, but was not much discussed in the US. I am referring to separate speeches by the leaders of the UK, Germany and France -the three leading powers in Europe – in which they pronounced the concept of “multiculturalism” a failure. The importance of this shift in thought for the prospects for the West cannot be overstated.

Mark Steyn has written about the lack of “civilizational confidence” in the West, in its clash with radical Islam and other forces of barbarity. These speeches may mark a welcome turning point from this situation.

Let me take a moment to take care of some of the inevitable comments that will follow my post: the European leaders were not denouncing a multi-racial or multi-religious society. They were denouncing the political correctness in which the West must always be in a position of apologizing for its sins, rather than celebrating the values that made it great.

The video of that clown from NPR was a perfect encapsulation of this political correctness that is also present in some quarters of the OT. The clown accepts a limousine ride to an expensive dinner from a group that proclaims on its website that it is associated with the Muslim Brotherhood – a terrorist group – and would like to promote Sharia in the US. Does the clown critically question this group in any way? Nope. Rather, he uses the occasion to partake in an orgy of gratuitous anti-Christian bigotry.

    Priceless.

The days are numbered for these types of folks.

Off to my conference. See you next week.

  4. The good thing about Facebook is that I will be the star of the 15 year high school reunion as I will be the only person there that people don’t already know everything about. I suppose everyone else will fake like they don’t already know everything. Or just feel awkward that they know all this stuff about each other because of Facebook.
