In 2008- yes. But that was before the Supreme Court ruling. Traditionally the Republicans get the lion’s share of corporate money, and with that ruling, it will be even worse.
And 11217, if you had come to the party you were invited to you would be able to see the view from the deck which was one of the top 3 reasons I bought that house instead of a few others.
“Public Employee Job paid for with tax revenue from those that actually pay taxes”
Legion- you lost the argument right there. Public employees pay taxes too. Union dues come out of their paychecks- not public taxes.
As for what the unions use those funds for, are you now also going to say corporations don’t have the right to contribute funds to the candidates of their choice? Because the Supreme Court now allows them to throw money at anyone they like, as “individuals.” Now that’s the real travesty- the buying and selling of politicians by private corporate monies.
I will admit that I am not a big union fan, and I don’t think they are terribly necessary anymore. However, by far my largest complaint about them is the use of mandatory/automatic dues for political purposes.
When comparing dues to taxes, there are laws in place to prohibit the use of tax money to influence elections and elected officials (although there are loopholes and ways around them).

BHS, the management should be properly trained to run the trains.
That’s how it works in the private sector.
But no, this is the public sector so if it can be done more inefficiently then let’s do so.

I didn’t mean for that sentence to sound like union employees don’t pay taxes. Everyone knows they do.
On corporate donations:
Democrats were the bigger winners in the Wall Street money stakes during the 08 Presidential election my dear.

😛
I don’t think I would want untrained people to run the trains and related switching/signal systems.
The deadliest subway accident in NYC history was when an dispatched was operating a train during a strike.

I like taro but the reality is that they know us better at Oshima so the pieces are larger, freebies, etc.
Taro’s only advantage over Oshima is that they have much better Toro.
