“And imagine there are kids today who will tell their grandkids that their first album was by Justin Bieber”
Album? You mean download, gramps. [rolling eyes, mercilessly]
First LP — Jackson 5’s Greatest Hits. [Dibs, I still have the LP and the sleeve announcing all kinds of promotional offerings. For $2 you can be Tito’s personal soul mate.]
First 8-Track — None, I knew that was crappy tech even when I was seven.
First cassette — never bought prerecorded. Made my own tapes (I hope statute of limitatiosn has run on that).
Slopey, I believe Innovative Audio is supposed to be a great store. They used to be in Brooklyn (on Clinton and then Montague), but now I believe they only have a Manhattan Store (150 E. 58th Street).
Soundgarden was AWESOME! “Spoonman” and “Rusty Cage” were two great songs – but the stuff they all branched off and did with other Seattle bands was equally great – Temple Of the Dog and Mudhoney
Slopey, if you go to Innovative Audio, you might as well make it duo purpose – ie lunch with the Midtown boyz

You all don’t een know what a 78 is!
I think the first record (yes, vinyl, cause I’m that old) I bought was either George Harrison or Peter Frampton. : P

BoB Keeshan as Captain Kangaroo???? There’s some commercial on TV now using the Captain Kangaroo theme music
I don’t remember the first 45 I bought but, it was probably a Micheal Jackson song.
“Speaking of you know what, I got an email from the What last week. The first one started out “Hiya Fuckface..” but the second one was rather civil.”
Seriously? Wow. What did he have to say?
