Day care usually has some consistency in caregivers. But very very expensive for young babies in brownstone Brooklyn.
I did not have the separation anxiety either. My mom and two of her sisters all had children within 6 months of each other. I was the youngest of the batch. We were all cared for by the sisters.
OK – I am having a SERIOUS craving for Iced Coffee – do these hoity toity coffee places around Park slope serve Ice coffee in the winter?
We had our son in day care from the time he was 8 weeks or so, and we never had any separation anxiety issues or babysitter issues.

CMU – yeah, so your kid didn’t have separation anxiety? what’s interesting is- I didn’t either growing up and that’s b/c I too had 2 different people watching me when I was an infant and then once my parents divorced and I lived with my mom – my mom had an arsenal of sitters and I would always ask her to go out so I could hang out with the fun babysitters – it’s an interesting point – but I think I am making the right decision for my kid to at least be socialized and not be too attached to my husband and I
