I’ve applied for several jobs that are below my experience level and I keep being told, “You’re over qualified” and “We can’t give you the job because we know you’ll be out the door as soon as something ‘real’ comes along for you.” $*$Y!!**
Yeah, Snappy. What THL said. For the first time in my adult life, I can schedule meetings and appointments with friends and colleagues during the day. There are so many qualified, educated people not working in the traditional 9-5 mode right now. They are either looking for that kind of job, or, like me, are freelancing at whatever can keep the wolf from the door. I’m enjoying not competing with the rest of Brooklyn to get on the subway in the morning, but I do miss a regular paycheck and health insurance. You are not alone.
My niece is like you, BRG- Olives are her life. It took me a long time to like olives- I hate the ones with pits. Actually it isn’t the taste, I can’t stand looking at the pits.
I’m sad not working 🙁 I’m one of those people who thrive on structure. I know there is a serious lack of jobs out there. I feel like 9million people are competing for the same 100 jobs and the chances, no matter how smart I am or how good I am, my chances are miniscule. That’s why I was trying to find a cheap resume counselor/career advisor. Argh.

Why is the last hour of the workday always the longest??
“Biff, yesterday I was inquiring as to your dating status. I was told that you’d divulged it recently but I’d missed the post.”
My dating status? Are these the options?
* Dating
* Not dating
Hang in there Snappy – I’m the same, I need the structure. I feel…adrift. I keep trying to build schedules/goals for myself.

Wasder heard it but thought it should come from Biff so I’ve been waiting to ask him.
Sorry Biff! I’ll keep that in mind 🙂
