  1. no Arkady, the name listed is definitely the name my grandfather used for his telephone bill. the number listed was definitely their number. i just wonder HOW they found my address in brooklyn? the ONLY bills under name are my student loans. oh well, ill just straighten it out today. should i put on a fake accent?

  2. Rob – you don;t need to treat the collection agency with respect
    all you need to do is WHEN THEY CALL YOU (don’t call them) say – sorry that’s not my debt and I don’t know who that debt belongs to.
    Also you might want to check out the NY or NJ state attorney general website as they give you info on how to handle collection agencies….

  3. That’s why they made the mistake, rob. There are loads of people w/ your name, my name, etc. – but they’re not related. It’s just coincidence.

  4. arkady what if they ask me my name tho? it’s the same as what is listed on the letter since we had the same name, except the last name is spelled differently.
