At least in India which I know best, there’s both strong sexism at all levels (social, business, cultural), particularly at lower-income and education levels, and a grudging acceptance of a women who takes the reins. It’s a cultural phenomenon not in place here.

went off this morning so I thought I’d chime in with
some facts:
-Bxgrl was quick to use the “racist” card.
The Anti-Abortion advertisement is a commentary on the amount of abortions in the African-American community. The percentage is very high.
I’m not making a judgement here just the facts.
The spokesman for the group that put up the billboard,
Rev. Stephen Broden is African American.
-On the NYPD, as was previously brought up a month ago by benson, I believe, the percentage of minorities on the NYPD force has increased exponentially in the past few years. I’ll have to check if they are in line with the percentages in the population.
-On keeping out of trouble with the police who are members of our communities and are made up of all races,
I’ll stick to my own ethnic group (in order to avoid being called a racist) and say this:
It is not acceptable to emulate thugs and criminals if you would like to lead life as a civilized member of society. I am talking about “Latin Kings”,”cholos”, “low riders”, “La Emme”, “Salvatruchia”, “Mexican Mafia”,
“MS 13”, etc, etc,
Dressing like any of these groups, hanging with any of these groups, throwing down signs with these groups or sporting tats like these groups will only get you on the fast lane to being a loser.
The hard road is the honest and true road.
This is what I tell my own son.
-Sure police have a history of racial discrimination as all groups do. They are delt with as a society in a severe way. They go to prison.
-Most of the world is neither White nor Black.
As I posted last week, the average human is now a
28 year old Han Chinese male.
-The largest minority in the US is now Hispanic and the nation as a whole is getting more integrated by the day.
Clinging to old notions of “the Man” will only serve to continue a negative culture of victimization.
The world is a very large place. Have your children take their place in it by force of intellect and character.
