Agree with etson re: QC. I would not recommend going there during the winter, if possible. I last went in May and it was freezing! But it sounds like you are planning to go soon. Just bundle up…maybe invest in a Maple Leaf or fleur-de-lis-covered Snuggie.
They were insulting, disruptive and fought him on everything, etson. They came right out and siad their main priority was to defeat the President on his agenda. What happened to the will of the people- seeing as he was elected by a majority?
cmu, I’m not going to get into a discussion about this with you because I’m sure I’d have to further educate you about exactly what it was that the governor wanted re the collective bargaining issues.
The devil is in the detail in all of this.
Surfice it to say that the governor had the power to order them back but he can’t carry that out if they are not physically within the state.
I’m sure you blindly support the unions on the substantive issues at hand though.
“The end is equally or more important so maybe would break it up into 2 posts.”
Actually, Legion, I agree with prezanon here, not with the length of your post but with the content. This is the part of your post that I was applauding (I’m not weighing in on the billboard or the abortion debate):
“-Most of the world is neither White nor Black.
As I posted last week, the average human is now a
28 year old Han Chinese male.
-The largest minority in the US is now Hispanic and the nation as a whole is getting more integrated by the day.
Clinging to old notions of “the Man” will only serve to continue a negative culture of victimization.
The world is a very large place. Have your children take their place in it by force of intellect and character.”
“the republicans will win, as it should be, as it was the will of the people who elected a Republican majority.”
If that were the case, how come Republicans didn’t act like that when Obama was elected? You know, majority, will of the people and all?
What is it you are trying to say?? I’m talking about the most recently elected state legislature in WI (and a fair number of other states as well as our House of representatives.)
The people elected them to a majority, not so long mind you, after Obama and the Dems swept and then had nothing to show for themselves.

Can we talk about blowjobs instead of unions?

Legion, you do not have to promise! We just want your posts to be appreciated to the full.
etson- that wasn’t the point I made in replying to dave.
legion- and exactly what did you think the whole billboard discussion was about? That the people who mounted it care about the Black community?

If you go to Quebec City, make sure it’s in the summer (i.e., the second week of August).
