  1. “Minard…and ….other…..preservation nutballs….are…touting….storm….windows ….in Bed-Stuy….thread. Keep calm, Benson….breathe deep…Don’t argue…. with….true believers………stay calm!!!!!”

“True believing nutball” here. First of all, Benson, they were talking about storm windows as a viable option to further winterize period wooden windows. There is nothing even objectionable to that. It’s fact. Studies have shown that original windows, if repaired and maintained, are as energy efficient as new super duper windows. Adding old fashioned storms even more. No one said they were the only way to go, or that LPC is demanding that they be used. They were talking about alternatives. Why act as if they are personally offending your delicate sensibilities? If that’s too much for you, perhaps you’d like to find a thread about people who enjoy wood burning fires in their fireplaces every once in a while, and you can go up in flames yourself over the thought of something so old fashioned and energy inefficient as that. All of us preservation nutballs will bring marshmallows.

Btw, dave, you don’t need LPC permission for storm windows, as they are not permanent.

  2. I am not much a dancer, and I was certainly not a dancer at all when I got married. I did the obligatory dance with my new wife at the wedding reception.

People then insisted that my mother and I dance together.
We started to and about 5 seconds: “do you want to do this?” “No, do you?” “No, lets stop.”
    And we stopped.

I did do the money dance at my wedding, which is a very silly custom but I will do just about anything for money.

Anyone listen to Imus in the Morning? He now has one of his crew doing John Boehner, who starts blubbering as soon as he hears any type of sappy news. It’s hysterical.

I think that conflicts with Morning Joe. My cousin was a regular on his show. “Jimmy the Wags”.

  4. I awkwardly danced to the obligatory song with my wife. I did a terrible job. I hated it.

Seriously, I only dance to hard core techno, and only when there are no hue-mons present who know me.
