I just learned a new MLB statistic – WAR
Supposedly Pujols is a far superior player than Mark Teixeira as measured by WAR (wins over replacement).
I just read a long, complicated explanation of this statistic. And this is the first time I have ever heard of this baseball statistic. I guess there is a theoretical AAA replacement against which players are measured.
Is this a post Money-Ball statistic? I never heard of this before…
