  1. It would seem from all the back and forth that statistics is not an absolute science. If 3 guys who seem to know a lot about the subject can’t agree, well….

    rob- as patient as people on the OT have been with you and your subjects of choice, I think you owe them the right to plather (said as I smack my forehead on the desk again).

    Yes, the probability calculations are correct.
    I’m only getting at the idea that probability calculations only give us a best guess as to the ultimate outcome.
    Until we actually make a determination of that outcome,
    say, rolling six ones in a row, the quantum physicists would say that the outcome exists as all possibilities at once.
    For practical purposes, the math equations hold true but we also know that weird things sometimes happen in total opposition to probability.
