Think about it this way. There is a roulette wheel with 365 slots on it. I walk up and randomly drop a ball in one slot. Zero chace there are two balls in the same slot b/c I’m first. Second person walks up and drops ball randomly. Chance is 1/365 of hitting my ball. Third person walks up and drops ball. What is chance of hitting one of the first two balls? 2/365 for that single shot. Repeat for 30 people and then calculate the *cumulative* likelihood that none of those people would have hit another ball. After a few people have gone the cumulative likelihood of no two balls in the same slot gets pretty small.
“After a few people have gone the cumulative likelihood of no two balls in the same slot gets pretty small.”
I’ve never seen two balls in the same slot.
Also Mathematical Magpie – I think it’s based on the probability that 2 people out of 30 would *not* have the same birthdate.

Something like that.

“Several pairs of PLUSAs share the same day.”
Especially those who have twins.
There could be even more shared birthdays but not all PLUSAs are comfortable saying when there birthday is; at least not online.
Several pairs of PLUSAs share the same day.
I heard “Just A Friend” in its entirety recently for the first time, man rap used to a total joke.
Months have nothing to do with it. Just the number of days in a year.
A fun little book that goes throught that exercise is Chaos, Coincidences and All That Math Jazz.
We learned some time ago that two PLUSAs have the same birthday, didn’t we?
