  1. dh, I’m so jealous you had venison. No Valentines Dinner for me, played pool and drank martinis. Had a slice around 11.

St germain is the “cherry on top” after great meal. Since it’s botanical it quite healthy to drink and drink…

  2. “Walking to the subway today, there was a lot of trash uncovered by the melted snow….this is the most disgusting time of year for that”

Yes, and would someone please tell the unscrupulous dog walkers of South Slope that dog poop doesn’t melt and vanish when the snow does! Clean up after your dog even if they poop on a mountain of sooty, crusty snow, ok?

  3. When I had the car out, the streets look incredibly filthy everywhere. It will be nice when the Sanitation Department can actually focus on street cleaning again. I was by the Brooklyn Museum on Sunday and there is one berm of black snow which is about 5 feet high! Still! How wonderful it will be when all of that filth melts and they can clean.

  4. dona, yes, it was a spectacular day yesterday. I think tomorrow through Saturday may be as well.

I needd to get the hose out and hose down the sidewalk and the gutter to get rid of the remaining crap.

  5. I took off yesterday and spent the day doing stuff in the building. Mostly cleaning. I removed the last of the black snow on my sidewalk and 6 weeks of buried garbage dropped by Sanitation in the snow. The place looks much better. I also went down to the water in Red Hook as part of a shopping trip to Fairway. Had a little coffee and pastry looking over the Harbor. It was Gorgeous!! I will go down to Coney Island over the weekend. Breathing the fresh air from the water and getting some sun really cheered me up. It was just BEAUTIFUL looking out over the harbor.
