“Why is is so much easier to cast the men than the women? I’m having a really hard time coming up with appropriate actresses for the women.”

“Like who would want to be played by Shelly Winters?”
“Chester, promise me that you’ll try to maintain some control. Because I just have a feeling — I just have this awful feeling that they’re thinking of having Shelley Winters play me!”
–Jessica Tate, SOAP (concerned about who will play her in the movie version of her life)
Slopey is exactly right. Remember the discussion about the attractiveness of female politicians? I don’t think anyone cares (including I) when male politicians are critiqued on their physical appearance.

(*rob*, don’t hurt me!)
meryl is too rigid/stern to play donatella. gotta pick someone who can laugh out loud
Meryl Streep and Kathy Bates are two of my favorite actresses.
And I personally don’t mind the double standard, by the way. I’m comfortable insulting other men, but try not to insult women.
