  1. bxgrl, I totally agree that Obama was a better choice than McCain/Palin, and I think he is facing unprecedented levels of unjustified over the top opposition.

On the other hand, I think he also received (and to a lesser extent still receives) unjustified levels of support as well.

I think the vision thing had large role to play. So many people were so upset with the state of things in 2008 that they were attracted to someone who could offer hope for a better future, and Obama promised that with beautiful words.

Personally, I would have been happier with an Clinton/Obama ticket, although even that would be lacking in leadership experience.

  2. is it true jimmy mcmillan is running for republicana condidate?!

“Now that Jimmy McMillan is planning to run for President as a damn Republican, he’s considering his choices for VP running mates. And he certainly has his priorities straight! He said of possible choice Newt Gingrich, “[He] has been there before. He is a good liar.” The interview only unravels from there”

    *rob*

  3. “For better or worse, Obama got most of his agenda passed into legislation.”

DUH!!!! As revelational as the Canadian border report. That was because the Democrats controlled the House.

Not so much now it would seem because the electorate obviously didn’t agree with what got passed and voted them out.

    Shit happens, things change.

  4. Right now, federal dollars can’t be used for abortion except in cases of rape, incest, or when the woman’s life is in danger.

But according to the New York Times, the Smith bill would narrow that use to “cases of ‘forcible’ rape but not statutory or coerced rape.”2 This could mean cases where women are “drugged or given excessive amounts of alcohol, rapes of women with limited mental capacity, and many date rapes” would no longer count as rape.

  5. “Every President has his ups and downs but none have faced more concerted and over the top opposition to his Presidency than Obama. From Day 1.”
That just is wrong. For better or worse, Obama got most of his agenda passed into legislation.
