“would be fairly close to where Etson is residing now so maybe we’ll be having drinks at the US/Canada border at some point in the next year.”
Just back from lunch.
Beer costs a *lot* more in Canada, although the Canada side of the border is much nicer around there.
Bottom line: let’s meet on the US side. Cheap beer trumps scenery.
If you are going to take a cab to Newark from Brooklyn, it is much better to go through the Verrazano Bridge and through Staten Island, even with the toll of the former. Much faster. Newark Airport is just off the Goethals bridge, so it is a quick ride through Staten Island.
I love flying out of/into LGA. I’ve gotten home literally in as little as 20 minutes door-to-door. (Only carry-on). I used to sort of commute to Boston or DC a lot. I had the shuttle thing down to a science! (pre 9/11 security)
An alternative way to get to Newark is by a bus service that leaves from the area around Grand Central. It is pretty timely, and not too expensive. Of course, you’ve got to schlep to Grand Central first.
Newark is a quick trip from BH if its not rush hour. 30 minutes. Just don’t do it between 7:30am-9:30am and between 4:00pm and 6:00pm if you can.
pre 9/11, love going to montreal via laguardia. that was pre-MARRIED too

if going to Newark on the weekends, it’s around 30-35 minutes. but then for similar weekend traffic, it’s 15-20 minutes to laguardia
