I don’t know, M4L. Is that the key to your resilience and perky attitude? Unfortunately at a tender age, I decided that Mets were too polyester for me (hated the uniforms) that in addition to the more important fact that I have been a Yankee fan since I am not even going to tell you (let’s just say some of my idols have monuments behind the outfield) so it’s not easy to change.
I went to sign up for a gym. With my little buzz on, I spent 15 minutes talking to a fast talker who kept using my first name maybe 15 times at NYSC and found out about a cheapie deal I can do. I actually have to “be” here for a while, 2, 3 (?) months (will find out at some point) but can’t officially do anything new, so I will be going to “appointments” down there to get in shape between job interviews and continuing to follow markets.
My fantasy? To get signed up for a new gig, and go to Havana, then Montevideo and then Buenos Aires. It’s SUMMER there!!!!!!
I don’t even understand how you could have a system of justice (maybe that would have been a more accurate question) without interpretation (or legal arguments).
bx — in civil law countries (non-UK Europe, e.g.), the courts apply civil law to facts to resolve disputes, but they do not set precedents. I can’t figure out how they do that without interpretation but that is the theory. Common law courts and our S.Ct. do.
“I decided that Mets were too polyester for me ”
URRRGGGHHHH. Must resist making nasty comment about Yankees. Must resist….
“So, you lawyerly types- is there any such thing as an absolute law, not open to interpretation?”
Yes, loads of them. Just not the interesting ones.
Donatella, let’s not get too greedy or is that the wine talking there?

ANyway, gotta run.
Off-topic a bit but why is there such a lack of lawyer jobs nowadays? What is causing that?
