In 1987 I got to know hedge fund manager, Paul Tudor Jones. He offered to let me invest with only $50,00. (I think his minimum was $500,00).
I never invest with anyone else, but he was obviously something special, so I was going to do it. My ex-wife flipped out so I dropped the idea.
When the market crashed later that year, Jones hit the jack pot!
Art least I can spot talent!
Legion, possibly. I guess when something tragic like that happens, it becomes heightened in its impact when you see it up close. But you are right. It would lead to angry discussions.
I’ll agree with this. But I will say, the threads have been consistent with past threads. It’s the posters that make the threads exciting. In the past there were more lively debates.
Don’t forget the What (for good or bad) added some excitement around here.

donatella,
I think a regular crime blotter on the website
would be a good idea,
although it would probably lead to many angry
discussions.
It would keep things interesting though.
Ooof, Dave – yeah, that’s not exactly what I’m talking about here.
DCB – the Merrill guy had me buy Blackrock funds.
