  1. I write here sometimes about my Japan experience because it was so intense. Sometimes there I would make these blanket determinations — these people are x,y,z, all witheringly negative. And just as I was settling in with these dark conclusions, I would meet someone angelic or who did some gratuitously, absurdly kind thing. It used to amaze me, as though it was to mess me up. It did mess me up.

That’s why I say stay open to surprise, D-Cat.

  2. True, Tiptoe, and also the guy caught warehousing mail so he wouldn’t have to deliver it. Shame. But I still maintain they aren’t all thieves 🙂 (I know you weren’t saying they all were.)

  3. *rob*, I only meant she sees you post in a lot of threads is all.

And, oh God, I just asked her if she reads the OT, and she said she reads it occasionally, but she doesn’t know my log-in name!

  4. Did you know there were some postal carriers who were fired for keeping netflix dvds they picked up from their customers for months on end? They actually found about 80 netflix dvds at this one guy’s home.

  5. DCB, what you just said sounds infinitely better than your previous statement. That doesn’t sound so depressing and defeatist. I’ll take it 🙂 I just think it sucks to be so negative all the time about absolutely EVERYONE and EVERYTHING and be unable to see any good or joy in your surroundings. Makes for a very sad life and says more about the person who constantly thinks that way than the people they are projecting onto.
