  1. Sidewalks were hit or miss walking to the train this morning, but they, and the streets of course, were infinitely better than the big storm a couple of weeks ago. As much as I would have loved to work from home today, no good excuse for that, and most everyone is here except for people from LI and CT. Before the storm even really started, we got a division-wide email that our “campuses” would be open for business today.

  2. My neighbors and I were out at 6:30 this morning to do the block and the stoops. it was very light and only about 6″. I did a pass through on the sidewalks last night at 11:15.

The plows were out last night even before there was any accumulation and it looks like most of the streets near me were done.

Suprisingly and most welcome was the fact that Fulton Park was plowed as you enter the subway.

But many of these people need to learn what is an appropriate amount of salt to spread!!!

  3. I would like to give a shout-out to a neighbor on 21st street btwn 5th and 6th avenues who consistently takes out his snow blower and does the ENTIRE side of my street! – He did all of our sidewalks! Really nice guy!!

  4. yeah it’s funny walking to train stop seeing what types of businesses shovel, and which types don’t give a crap. ill leave you all to guess the types of businesses that were completely unshoveled… let’s just say they are all probably sleeping in right now and won’t be up til around noon.

    *rob*

  5. Rf! – omg am so sorry! what a jerk! what is WRONG with people today? I mean seriously? she could have been really hurt.

I am home today – didn’t feel my $20/hour temp job was worth me struggling to walk the 15 mins to the R train from my house with most businesses and homes not shoveled! If I wasn’t pregs – I would have went in! am proud the NYC school system is open!
