  1. He can master the music by copying it, but he still does not have soul. Same with some white people breakdancing. They have all he moves down, but they have no soul. Soul if felt by the performer and the observer.

  2. “Same with breakdancing, rap…. lots of stuff. Would be able to make a perfect copy but would never come up with it in the first place.”

Not having invented breakdancing is a point in favour of the Chinese!

  3. Lech- are you saying a perfect copy has the soul of the original? That the only criteria is whether or not they could come up with the concept on their own, but a perfect copy is just as good as the original?

I can’t agree with that. You could perfectly copy a Michelangelo but it will never be a Michelangelo. There’s an intensity and quality in the original of anything that a copy can’t, well, copy.

  4. “how was randi eliminated”

Because we know nothing about randi. We don’t even know if randi is a he or a she. Jewish? No clue. Gay or straight? No clue. Lawyer? No clue. Teetotaler? No clue.

  5. A Chinese dude could master soul music by copying it. He could reproduce some great piece of soul music so perfectly you wouldn’t even know it’s not the original. But he’d never be able to come up with it on his own.
