Lechacal, something tells me that parents of kids at elementary schools in Westchester (especially the communities you will be considering) wouldn’t like that gasoline smell. Of course they have bigger school yards so it’s not such an issue, but I predict many peanut-free snacks and organic Christmas trees.
I have two friends from Peru, one is an educated, fair skinned guy of largely Spanish descent and the other is a poor, darker Peruvian of local Indian descent. Without knowing anything about the Indian guy, except his name, Teodoro, my friend said “Oh, he’s probably Indian” in a very condescending manner.
Well then I think Hispanic is too broad of a term, then right? b/c basically it’s just Spanish(from Spain) mixed with indian populations of Latin America/Carribbean?
correct?
I guess what I am saying folks is why does the Hispanic race to get to be broken out so much on a “form” but everyone else is just asian, white and black
that’s all!!
I speak Spanish and I am white. Does that make me Hispanic? There are many people whose parents come from Latin America or the Caribbean who can’t speak Spanish. Or speak it so badly they are barely understood. There are whitest of white people with Germanic names who have lived in Chile for generations. There are Argentineans who speak with British accents and come from British backgrounds or Argentineans who are 2nd generation Italian who speak Spanish and have cousins in Brooklyn. There are 1st generation Italians in Uruguay who have first cousins in Italy, Brazil and ARgentina as well as Brooklyn. There are black people who are from the Caribbean who were the original sugar cane workers who speak Spanish and who are black.
“Argentinians to themselves are the closest to Europeans in looks and culture, so they look down on everyone, and everyone else hates them for it.”
Not me. I LOVE the Argentines!!
“What is Hispanic? Am I Hispanic?”
No dona, you are a non-Hispanic who speaks Spanish.
lech…he’s a Poly Sci major.

As soon as I saw that real estate agent’s pic I told my wife NFW was I letting her go look at empty houses alone with that guy.
