i don’t see rob’s style of comedy as self-depreciating. it sounds more like wit. I happened to read something about comedy lately and thought, these sound like techniques rob uses.
for one thing comedians “bash” things, and are kind of iconoclast-blasters. watch seinfield, all of them. I see rob bashing things here, then some monitors come out and say, you cannot be against this and that, etc.; or can’t be against everything. and rob is just doing what comedians do.
rob on Brownstoner is kind of like reading the “comic section” of the newspaper.
