There is no cash on the floor of a casino (other than individual’s wallets). The big money in in the cashier’s cage, with smaller amounts in the ATMs and machines used to redeem slot machine winnings.
The richest target for a basic armed robbery is probably the bar.
I went to a work conference in Saratoga Springs one year. We had dinner at the place where they had harness racing. We all went and placed bets. The most thrilling part of it was saying “$2 on number 7 to show.”
Frankly, I think the pitching staff is pretty short as presently composed, donatella. I do expect Cashman to pull deal out of his hat, and it will be big in the Yankee tradition. You may see King Felix in pinstripes if all goes well. Yankees have the trade bait to work a deal before the season starts.
“You had no sense of day or night or that it was a Sunday morning.”
That’s part of casino design. No windows, or clocks, so people can’t tell how long they’ve been in there, or what time of day it is. Plus all the freebies, which look great to the rubes, but are more than paid for by the vast amounts of money the casinos take from you at the gaming tables or slot machines. It’s really diabolically brilliant.

I should just stop being lazy and walk across the highway and go to HD. I HATE DOING THAT.
The classy people go to the flat track, not the harness track.

Thanks Dave. If my local hardware stores disappoint, I may try that.

Snappy, I bet that hardware store on Court north of Atlantic has them.
Riverboat casinos first came to Baton Rouge when I was 21 and would often visit my parents there.
The first time I went in, my initial feeling was “what’s the big deal.” That quickly changed to “this is lame” and “get me out of here.”
Since then, I tend to get dragged in there every 4 or so years by friends.
