Lech, get yourself that battery boost + air pressure pump unit. super handy – especially if wife runs into tire flat and dont want to or cant change flat (ie she can keep pumping it, drive it, pump it, drive it till she gets to place to park car or fix flat). I usually order my tires from tirerack.com and have it shipped to my mechanic who charges me 12-15 per tire to put them on.
I bought tires for the old volvo at BJs. I was planning to go back there (similar deal to Costco I believe).
If I weren’t such a cheap man I would have bargained for new tires when I bought the minivan over the summer. Instead I accepted old tires with my lowball offer and figured I would get new ones soon enough.
I circled the block a few times, gave up, and put it in the garage on 11th St. First time I’ve ever done that. I had to get to work asap and couldn’t spend any more time figuring out the parking situation. $34 / day (including tax). I’ll leave it there for a day or two and try again.
Terminal Mkt – Canarsie – Foster & Remsen Av.s
Google BJ’s for directions I guess.
I was going to suggest Tirerack.com as well

Bank of America to buy back 2.8B of loans from Fannie and Freddie.
Bet they ultimately make a killing on those loans!
I don’t know what the Terminal Market is. Do you mean out on Red Hook? I heard the hookers were getting BJs soon.
You know there’s a new BJ’s out by the Terminal Market?
Welcome back to NYC, Lech. If you start feeling homesick for Midwestern cuisine, I found a restaurant which built its menu around Velveeta.
