When i first started working in a scientific lab they had an old computer which was the size of a fridge, hummed and heated the room up to 90F and had two slots for these huge floppy disks – I’d say 8 or 10 inches.

When I was in college I had to use a slide rule first year. Electronic calculators didn’t come out until 1974-75 when I was a Sophomore.

Benson,
I have a few boxes of the 5 1/4 floppies. I use them as hall passes for my students.
Some of the boxes are still shrink wrapped. Maybe I can sell them on eBay and retire with the proceeds….
